Step 1: Downsize.
Throw away chintzy homemade lamps made of fur and plastic dryer vents. Discard clothes not worn in over three months (coldest weather gear excluded). Trash trinkets obtained from past girlfriends: strawberry flavored condoms, heart-shaped key chains, shiny agates, unoriginal poems, and one Ganesh finger puppet-- goodbye.
By the end of the day, most of my possessions will be in a small, slightly damp closet at her place. I'll also have two medium size boxes for storage where things such as bunny suits and camping gear can stay.
